ABOUT THE PROJECT
In the midst of the current economic and environmental crisis, our society faces an urgent need to acquire practical skills that align with both the natural world and the fundamental human desire for a healthy and meaningful life. To foster a more harmonious way of living, resilience, and overall well-being, active participation becomes crucial. This project strives to make a tangible impact by re-establishing our connection with food, thereby contributing to a broader network of interconnected relationships.
The primary goal of this project is to raise awareness of the detrimental effects imposed by mainstream food systems on individual, environmental, economic, and community health. By doing so, we aim to actively support the ecological transition and the transformation towards sustainable food systems. In addition, the project seeks to strengthen transnational partnerships and cooperation among youth organizations. It aspires to empower youth workers with effective tools to advocate for the transition to sustainable food systems. Furthermore, the project has a dual focus, aiming to equip both youth workers and young individuals with essential digital skills, including proficiency in social media, video production, photography, and graphic design. By providing these skills, we empower the younger generation to effectively communicate and advocate for the necessary shifts towards a more sustainable and interconnected future.
The Food for Good Club is an inspiring project designed for youth workers and young people with and without fewer opportunities passionate about food and ready to embark on a transformative food revolution. The initiative revolves around growing, preparing, and sharing food with the goal of enhancing individual well-being, fostering community improvement, and contributing to a healthier environment. At the heart of this endeavour is the creation of a digital cookbook accompanied with hands-on experiences and implementation of local projects, comprising of the three integral chapters:
CHAPTER 1: GROW will offer recipes and guidance for establishing an urban garden based on permaculture principles. The focus is on simplicity and affordability, encouraging individuals to cultivate their own green spaces in a sustainable and budget-friendly manner.
CHAPTER 2: PREPARE will present recipes for cooking simple yet nourishing, budget-friendly meals that promote health for both individuals and the environment. Emphasizing accessibility, these recipes cater to diverse tastes while maintaining a commitment to sustainability.
CHAPTER 3: SHARE will guide food enthusiasts in becoming social entrepreneurs, providing recipes and insights on how to initiate and run local food-related projects. The aim is to support the transition to sustainable food systems, fostering a sense of community engagement and positive impact.
