WELCOMESHIP
Building inclusive communities through community-based entrepreneurship
The overarching objective of this project was to develop, implement, and evaluate the the “Welcomeship” model—a unique approach to entrepreneurship education tailored for young individuals with fewer opportunities, including young migrants, refugees, and local youth. Grounded in non-formal learning methodologies and collaborative practices, the “Welcomeship” model endeavors to enhance interactions between locals and newcomers, mitigate apprehensions and biases, and nurture a sense of community cohesion.
Through the “Welcomeship” model, local youth and young migrants collaborated to generate entrepreneurial concepts that tackle community challenges while forging partnerships with various stakeholders to instigate positive transformations within their local communities. This collaborative endeavor was designed to cultivate openness, tolerance, and a sense of unity within the community, fostering an inclusive atmosphere conducive to collective progress.
Ultimately, the “Welcomeship” model aspired to serve as a catalyst for building inclusive communities, where diversity is embraced, and individuals from all backgrounds are empowered to contribute to the common good.
